Dr. Myrna Jover

Myrna is a highly qualified GP who, with her husband Neill, took over Illawarra Medical Services in 2005. She enjoys providing her patients with continuity of quality care, but is also always happy to take on new patients. She believes in empowering patients to take control of their own health, ultimately promoting better health outcomes. A popular GP amongst her patients, her passion for her work was officially acknowledged by the local community in 2012 when she was voted the ‘GP of the Year’ of the Illawarra Shoalhaven area. Myrna is also active in the field of medical education, taking up roles such as a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Wollongong, an examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, an area of need doctor supervisor and a clinical supervisor for new GP registrars. Myrna values furthering her education, in recent years she has obtained a Diploma in Child Health Education, Graduate Certificate in Medical Education and a FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health for Doctors.
Myrna is a mother of four children and enjoys travelling, organising events and making elaborate cakes. She also likes singing and going to Toastmasters meetings.
